The developer does not receive, store, sell, or use your data. SyncWatch transmits the selected video, your display name, playback state, and reactions only to participants in your local room. There is no SyncWatch server.
When you host a room you pick a video from your own device. That file is streamed only to the phones connected to your hotspot, over your local network. It is never uploaded to the internet or to us. If a video is above 1080p, the app may create a smaller copy on your device so slower phones can play it.
The name you set is stored on your device and is shared with other people in the same room so they can see who sent a reaction. It is not sent to the developer or retained on a server.
The Android system file picker lets you choose one video to share without giving SyncWatch broad access to your media library. Wi-Fi access lets the app connect devices on your local network. Camera access is used only when you choose to scan a host QR code. Location is not requested.
SyncWatch does not provide, download, or host a media catalogue. Only share video files that you own or have permission to use.
Playback and synchronisation use plain HTTP and WebSocket connections to private addresses on your local network, because hotspot devices have no certificates. This traffic is not encrypted, so only host rooms with people you trust. Connections to public IP addresses are blocked.
The app contains no analytics, no tracking, no advertising, and no third-party SDKs that collect personal information.
SyncWatch is a general-audience utility and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
If this policy changes, the updated wording will ship with a new version of the app and be published at the same policy address.
